Healthy 21 Approved Mild Salsa Recipe

Prep time: 10 
Cook time: 5 minutes
Total time: 15 minutes


  • 1, 28 oz can of whole tomatoes 
  • 1 whole onion, halved
  • 1/2 cup of cilantro
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp of cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper


  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse 10 times, or until desired consistency is reached

Tip: Perfect to use as a marinade for fish or chicken!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours


  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon 
  • Sea salt to taste


  1. Heat the oven to 225 F
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper 
  3. Cut the bananas into 1/4 inch slices
  4. Arrange the banana slices on a baking sheet, make sure the slices aren't touching. 
  5. Brush with lemon juice
  6. Bake for 90 minutes then flip them over and continue baking for an additional 30-60 minutes
  7. Once the bananas are brown and crisp, take them out and lightly sprinkle with sea salt
  8. Let them cool completely and enjoy!
